Twitter Inc has recently laid off almost all of its employees in India, about 90% of employees have been affected by layoffs (layoffs). It turns out that not only Twitter, other big tech companies have also laid off thousands of employees in recent months.

Facebook’s parent social media company, Meta, reported a decline in revenue in the quarter this year. The company’s revenue was recorded at $44 billion, down 52% from a year ago.
This decline prompted the company to choose to reduce its workforce, including one in India. Initially, Meta simply stopped recruiting, but the effort didn’t pay off for the company. Until they are finally forced to carry out mass layoffs.
On November 4, Elon Musk, as the new owner of Twitter, decided to cut costs and cut its 7,500 employees in half. Nearly 3,700 employees were laid off across all departments.
In India alone, around 180 of its 230 employees have been laid off across content, partnerships, content curation, sales and social marketing teams.
