Mu’allimaat organizes an international seminar on education

MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is organizing an international seminar on education in the face of the development of digital technology. The seminar was held regularly mixby zoom meetings and located in the Hall of Prof. Siti Baroroh Bared on Saturday December 17, 2022. The theme of the seminar was “Digital Technology for Young Learners: Theory, Challenges and Ways Forward”.

The international seminar featured five presenters from four countries and connected 10 countries around the world as seminar participants. The presenters are: Assoc. Teacher. Ts. Dr. Arumugam A/L Raman (prof.Professional Technologist at School of Education, University North Malaysia), Dr. Ashish Kumar Tamrakar (Associate Professor RSR Rungta Engineering and Technology Bhilai India), Dwi Setiyawan, M.Pd. (Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta), Zulazri Bin Yusof, M.Ed. (Sultanah Asma Middle School Malaysia) and Arjay Santiago, MA.Ed. (Stressmuthprakan School Thailand), moderated by Imastuti Tricahyani, S.Pd. (Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta) as moderator. While the 10 countries participating in the seminar came from Indonesia, India, Philippines, Pakistan, Nigeria, Morocco, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand and Yemen.

The international seminary activity is an annual program for Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, as a commitment of a madrasah to educate the life of the nation. There are several objectives in organizing this seminar, namely to improve awareness teachers from Madrasah Mu’allimaat, Muhammadiyah schools in Indonesia and international teachers; Provide new knowledge about the latest teaching methods in teaching in schools, so that teachers are able to apply the latest methods; Give awareness the importance of digital in the learning process to make it more interesting and in tune with the times; Create new national and international relationships for Muhammadiyah Schools; Open international knowledge perspectives in various countries; Increase awareness of the importance of digital literacy for all educators in the global community.

Unik Rasyidah, Director of Madrassah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta welcomes the international seminar organized by the international class and public relations of Madrassah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.

“This digital age has both negative and positive impacts. For the learning process, technology facilitates the learning process and can connect with different countries. Another positive impact is being effective and efficient in doing something. This seminar is therefore important for the advancement of education in the future,” said Unik.

Head of International Class Affairs at Mu’allimaat Madrasah, Dwi Setiyawan, said this agenda also includes madrasah measures in line with the B20 agenda, including through the Chamber of Commerce Indonesian industrial company to design task force on the future of work and education. Collaborate with educational institutions to encourage superior human resources and have a competitiveness in the digital world that encourages schools to implement digital technology in the world of education. So that she can give birth to a superior generation ready for the future.

“Digital technology is very good for students, it becomes more interesting and fun to learn, but as part of student motivation, technology cannot be replaced. Only teachers can fill this position.
