Located outside Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty, Sokol Circuit is a new motorsport complex being built in the heart of Central Asia.

Construction began in 2012. But the drag and go-kart circuits were the first to be completed. The outline of the main circuit then began, as well as the construction of the pit building, which also included a hotel with a capacity of 44 rooms.

Construction work on the circuit had slowed down in 2019. Nevertheless, the management continued to do their best to complete it.

The Sokol circuit will be supported by a sophisticated electronic system, provided by Al Kamel Systems, to be able to organize motorsport events with the support of a qualified technological infrastructure.

“We are very proud to have Al Kamel Systems as a new partner in a key area such as specialized electronics,” said Sokol International Racetrack Director Rahimjan Talipov.

Former MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo is known to have visited Sokol in 2016. Back then, he admitted he was very impressed with the construction process of the circuit.

“I’m really looking forward to testing the track on a motorcycle,” he said.
