R’Bonney Gabriel was crowned Miss Universe the night of Saturday through Sunday January 15th. Aged 28 and from Houston, he is the 9th American to win this title.
And the Miss Universe title is associated with… R’Bonney Gabriel. Miss USA this Saturday, January 14, was crowned after a ceremony held in New Orleans where the French representative, Floriane Bascou, was sadly not selected in the last 16.
Born in Houston, Texas, to a Filipino father and American mother, R’Bonney Gabriel – elected Miss Texas 2022 before being crowned Miss USA 2022 – is the first Miss USA from the Philippines.
An “eco-conscious fashion designer, but also a model and sewing guru”, the 28-year-old is “passionate about life”, as stated in her biography on the Miss Universe website. “He linked his bold vision to his education which was steeped in art, sports and travel,” he explains.
“As a fashion-turned high school volleyball player, she fell in love with style when she was 15 years old. At the University of North Texas, she earned her bachelor’s degree in fashion design in 2018. She is currently the CEO of her own sustainable clothing line, R’Bonney Nola.”
R’Bonney Gabriel is the 9th American to win the Miss Universe pageant, and the first since Olivia Culpo in 2012. She is also the oldest Miss Universe in history at 28 years, 9 months, and 25 days.
