Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi strengthened engagement with Japan and India on three priority issues of the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) of Indian presidency of the G20 in 2023.
During the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting (DEMM), at Taj West End, Bangalore, India, Friday (18/8), Minister Budi held a bilateral meeting with Japanese Minister of Digital Transformation Taro Kono accompanied by Interior Minister Tsuge Yoshifumi. Also with India’s Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, as host.
“As members of the G20 India Troika Presidency, we express our views on strategic issues, including three priority issues which are part of the DEWG agreement document,” Budi said according to an official statement received SATURDAY.

During the meeting, the Minister of Communication and Information said that each party discussed issues related to the digital economy. He hopes that the meeting can strengthen the good relations between the G20 member countries and, of course, facilitate a common vision on priority issues for India’s DEWG chairmanship this year.
“The bottom line is digital public infrastructure, digital capabilities to prepare the workforce and, finally, security in the digital economic sector,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information said that India would also open up opportunities for cooperation with all G20 member countries. According to Budi, the bilateral meeting held today was an opportunity for the Ministry of Communication and Information to exchange experiences.

“We want and must always work together with all countries, because all these countries have experiences or good practices with which we can exchange ideas. “We must learn from each other in several of these countries, on which we will develop discussions later,” Budi said.
Meanwhile, during the bilateral meeting, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi was accompanied by Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information Mira Tayyiba, Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information Sarwoto Atmosutarno, head of the International Institutional Center Ichwan Nasution. , and the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai, Eddy Wardoyo.
