“Were doing image generation faster, so you can create images from text in real time using Meta AI's Imagine feature,” the company said in a statement. Meta is launching this feature in beta on WhatsApp and the Meta AI web experience in the United States.
The company says that when users see an image appear when they start typing, it will change over the few letters they type. Meta also shared an animation showing images appearing as you type using Meta AI's Imagine feature in a WhatsApp chat.
“The images generated are also now sharper and of higher quality, with a better ability to include text in images,” Meta said.
These images can be used to create scrapbook artwork, wedding signage, and birthday decorations, among other things. The AI assistant will also provide prompts for users to edit their ideas to change the image.
Additionally, once users finalize an image, they can ask Meta AI to animate it, edit it into a new style, or even turn it into a GIF to share with friends.
Meta AI for Instagram, Facebook and Messenger
The new feature is part of a broader rollout of AI features across all Meta apps, including Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. Recently, WhatsApp and Instagram users in India have started accessing Meta AI.
In addition to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and the web, Meta AI is also available in the United States on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and will be available on Meta Quest headsets.
