Sunil Gavaskar slammed young players, including Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, for their poor performance in the first IND vs SA Test.
Veteran Sunil Gavaskar couldn't hold back after Indian team's humiliating defeat in the match First SA vs IND test. Speaking to Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said that playing practice matches was a must when the team visited countries like South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
““Training should be a necessity for young players and the words 'workload management' should not come to players' minds, at least young players. When you visit countries like South Africa , New Zealand or even Australia, playing preparation matches will allow you to acclimatize to the conditions. » said Gavaskar.

“We weren't good enough to win. After hitting, KL kicked well and gave us this score, but we didn't take advantage of the conditions with the ball and again we didn't get the shot today. If we want to win Test matches we have to work together and we haven't done that. The players have been here before, we know what to expect and everyone has their own plans.
