Martin wins, Marquez gets back on the podium

Jorge Martin Become the winner of the Sprint Race Indian MotoGP 2023 which will take place at Circuit Buddh, Saturday (23/9) evening, Indonesian time.

India’s MotoGP sprint race was postponed by more than an hour from the original schedule due to heavy rain lashing the circuit.

Before the sprint race, the riders had time to practice motorcycle racing on the wet track of the Buddh circuit.

More than 30 minutes before the practice session, precisely at 5:00 p.m. local time, the drivers began to leave the pit lane. The riders, with the exception of Alex Marquez who fractured a rib during qualifying, lined up for the start.

When Jorge Martin rushed to the start, three riders had accidents at the first turn. Luca Marini, Stefan Bradl and Pol Espargaro were unable to continue the race. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi, hit by Marini, was able to continue the race and was left behind.

Martin accelerated and took the lead more than a second ahead of Francesco Bagnaia who was in second place on the second lap. Marc Marquez and Joan Mir are trailing in third and fourth places.

Mir then crashed in the third corner of the third lap, allowing Brad Binder to move into fourth place, followed by Fabio Quartararo in the top five.

Entering the fifth lap, Martin was up to 2 seconds ahead of Bagnaia, but the classification leader managed to close the distance. Not only did he slightly close the distance to Martin, but Bagnaia also moved away from Marquez by 1.2 seconds.

Nevertheless, Martin’s speed is truly unmatched. The Prima Pramac Racing driver regained a lead of more than 2 seconds over Bagnaia entering the sixth lap.

Meanwhile, Marquez was solid in blocking Binder who tried to pass him from time to time.

When the finish flag flew, Martin was in first place followed by Bagnaia. Marquez secured third place, just ahead of Binder.

Bezzecchi, who was far behind at the start of the race, was able to catch up with the leading group and overtake Quartararo to finish in fifth place.
