MotoGP News: Despite his good performance at the Indian GP, ​​MotoGP superstar Marc Marquez is still not comfortable with his Honda RC213V. However, the Spanish driver does not want to continue working on the prototype next year.

On Saturday, Marc Marquez celebrated his first podium since Portimão 2023 during the MotoGP sprint in India. During Sunday’s Grand Prix, the Spaniard rammed his Honda RC213V into the gravel at Turn 1, but ultimately recovered 9th place. Although the Indian GP was a ray of hope for the eight-time world champion, he said afterwards:

“I’m having a little more fun, but I still don’t feel comfortable on a motorcycle. I’m fast and I know how to ride a Honda. But it’s not easy for me to ride because I’m not not in my comfort zone. I still can’t use my natural instincts.”

The 30-year-old runner did not regret his fall afterwards. Instead, he explained why he was so keen to follow Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati), then 3rd ahead of Márquez:

“To follow Bagnaia, I had to take a bigger risk. But it was a day to take that extra risk. Because in my current situation, it doesn’t matter if I finish fifth or ninth. I want to enjoy it a little more and try to finish on the podium.”

At the Misano test in mid-September, Márquez tried the 2024 prototype for the first time, but it did not draw enthusiastic cheers from the Spaniard. When asked if he would continue working on the bike next year, the 85-time GP winner gave a clear answer.

“I rode a 23cc bike. Because, as I said during the Misano tests, I felt uncomfortable on the 24 prototype, so I didn’t think it was necessary to continue to test it,” he added.
