Marc Marquez finds similarities between Buddh Circuit and COTA

MotoGP News: Marc Marquez believes his Honda RC123V motorcycle will be able to perform well in the Indian MotoGP as the track there has a similar character to COTA.

As we know, Marc Marquez is the leader of the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). He won the main podium there seven times.

Then recently, Honda performed brilliantly in the Indian MotoGP. Marquez successfully took the third podium in the Sprint race and finished ninth in the main race. Then his teammate, Joan Mir, finished fifth in the Grand Prix.

The Baby Alien also thinks that the Buddh International Circuit is very similar to COTA. The numerous stop-and-go turns on both tracks are the main strength of the Honda RC123V iron horse.

“This track is not exactly the same as Austin, where I had so many victories, but it has a very similar layout,” Marquez was quoted as saying by Speedweek.

“Here there are a lot of stop-and-go corners, acceleration starts from the bottom, there is no need to accelerate in tight corners. “And this is our biggest weakness, as we clearly saw on the Catalan circuit,” explained the Spaniard.

“But in these stop-and-go corners, where you have to accelerate immediately after the first corner, our bike performed quite well, as was also seen at Le Mans. “We can easily compete with the best bikes on a circuit like this,” he continued.

Marc Marquez was able to race at the Buddh International Circuit on the first day of the Indian MotoGP. The six-time MotoGP world champion started from 6th place in the main race and briefly rose to 4th place. Unfortunately, the driver slipped on lap five at Turn 1, dropping to ninth position.
