We left him a few weeks ago, on the plains side of Azerbaijan, when he was about to board the ferry after the incredible wait, bound for Uzbekistan.
Today, on the outskirts of Karakol, in Kyrgyzstan, at the foot of the Himalayas, we found Lucas Venner, our young adventurer from Liverdun.
A journey worthy of a journey, taking him first to the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan. The first turning point for him, Almaty should have opened its doors wide to China, as soon as his visa for this country was issued. So it is there, in the former Kazakh capital, that the endless wait will begin.
The wait turned into heartbreak for Lucas Venner, authorization to enter China was eventually denied by the Chinese authorities, ending his dream of the Great Wall: “It was really a cold shower. I’ve collected all the papers, all the authorizations, I even got an invitation from the Chinese institution, but it’s not enough. »
“Horseride” and tank trips
A Lucas touches, but doesn’t sink in, far from it. After a (very) brief hesitation, the decision was made to take advantage of this time and head north towards the plains of Siberia. Travel everywhere, where world travelers will experience “horseback rides”, but also journeys in tanks to reach the most remote places, before participating in local commemorations associated with “Victory Day”.
An emotional moment for Lucas. “Going from the sands of the desert to the snows of Siberia in just a few days is incredible. I had the honor of being chosen by locals to light up the main star of Victory Day, a moment full of emotion. »
From now on, the world traveler has set himself new challenges: to forget, the dream of China, to head to India in a few weeks, after a short stay in Tajikistan, having heard, of course, refueling on the Yeti trail.
