LIVE – Ukraine: Zelensky claims “fast and strong” advance in the South

UKRAINE COUNTER ATTACKS ARE GOING IN TROUBLE

Russian troops are fighting in northern Ukraine’s Kherson region, where the Kyiv army has been waging counteroffensives for several weeks, according to occupation officials and specialist bloggers who follow Russian military movements. The head of the Russian occupation, Vladimir Balance, was the first to acknowledge the Ukrainian “breakthrough” and in particular the loss of the village of Dudtchany, before confirming that Russian aviation had “halted” the Ukrainian advance, according to an interview Monday published Tuesday on an interested party’s Telegram page.

“The Ukrainian-Nazi advance in the Dudtchany area has been stopped (…) we must not panic”, then punched one of his assistants, Kirill Stremoussov, in a video broadcast Tuesday on his Telegram channel. The Russian Telegram channel Rybar, which follows Russian troop movements, noted that Ukraine was advancing in the Arkhangelské and Dudtchany areas to “cut off the supply of Russian groups on the right bank of the Dnieper”.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have remained silent on their advance in the south of the country. President Volodymyr Zelensky limited himself to saying in his speech late Monday that “new areas have been liberated in some areas”.
