Amid massive unrest, Karnataka has shelved a bill to reserve jobs in private companies for Kannadigas. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said the state government will make horizontal reservation of 10% of posts for Agniveers while filling up the posts of constable, mine guard, forest guard, jail superintendent and special police officer. The Delhi High Court today deferred the decision on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's petition challenging his arrest by the CBI and seeking interim bail in an excise policy case. The Karnataka Cabinet has approved a bill mandating reservation of 50% of managerial and 75% of non-managerial posts for locals. The Delhi High Court is hearing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's bail plea in connection with the CBI's case in Delhi's excise policy proceedings, as well as a petition challenging his arrest by the CBI. An oil tanker carrying 16 crew members, including 13 Indians, has gone missing after it capsized off the coast of Oman on Monday, the sultanate's Maritime Safety Centre (MSC) said. The crew of the Comoros-flagged oil tanker 'Prestige Falcon' included 13 Indians and three Sri Lankans, the MSC tweeted on Thursday. The vessel capsized 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, near the port city of Duqm, the MSC said in a post on X. Oman's Maritime Safety Centre told Reuters that the oil tanker remained “submerged and at sea level”. However, it did not clarify whether the tanker has stabilized or whether oil or oil products were leaking into the sea. Ajit Gavhane, the chief of the NCP's Pimpri-Chinchwad unit, is one of those who have quit the party. The others are Yash Sane, chief of the student movement in Pimpri Chinchwad, and former municipal councillors Rahul Bhosale and Pankaj Bhalekar.
