There are more than two dozen countries that have to bite their fingers not to qualify for the final U-20 Asian Cup 2023. Here is a list of the 25 national teams that did not qualify for the U-20 Asian Cup 2023.
Out of the 43 countries participating in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, it has been confirmed that 25 countries will not participate in the U-20 Asian Cup next year.
All of the teams that failed to secure a ticket were the team that finished third, fourth, and fifth in their respective groups. Additionally, several second-placed countries failed to compete in the race for the top five finalist groups.
Of the 25 teams that failed to qualify, several countries actually had quite strong assets, such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.
Some of the Indonesian competitors from the Southeast Asia region were also unable to qualify for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup finals, such as Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore.
While there are also countries that often fail to compete, such as Maldives, Nepal, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands.
Qualification for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup still leaves one group in contention, namely Group H. Australia, Iraq, India and Kuwait will meet from October 14-18.
The four countries will fight for a quota to automatically qualify as group winners. Meanwhile, the runner-up must first face record-breaking Thailand, which temporarily sits fifth in the list of top group runners-up. Thailand have a collection of six points and have scored six goals and conceded three.
