Medan: Women’s Doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto entered the Round of 16 of the 2023 BNI Indonesia Masters Badminton Tournament after defeating Chinese Taipei representatives Lin Chih-Chun/Wu Meng Chen with a score of 21-9. 21-11.

During the match which took place at Pancing Sports Hall, Medan, North Sumatra, on Wednesday (6/9/2023), Lanny/Tria admitted that they were still adjusting to the conditions of the match arena where he there was a lot of wind.

“Right now, we haven’t been together very long. There’s still a lot to fix, so we need to go to several tournaments to hone our fighting mentality,” Lanny said.

The Indonesia International Challenge 2022 champion admits he prepared himself with as much training as possible to be able to go far in the BWF Tour Super 100 tournament.

“Right now we are making a lot of changes as our goal wants to be as well. We trained hard to become champions and achieve the best results in every competition we participate in,” added Ribka.

With this victory, the duo who made their SEA Games 2021 debut will face Jiang Yi-Hua/Li Zi Qing (Chinese Taipei).

In the previous match, Jiang/Li defeated their compatriots Hsu Yin-Hui/Lin Jhih Yun with a score of 24-22, 21-16.

Victory was also won by Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setiargrum who won in consecutive matches 21-9, 21-12 against India’s representatives, Nikki Rapria/Nishu Rapria.

The champion of the Xpora Indonesia International Challenge 2023 tries to adapt to the competitive atmosphere of the BWF Super 100 tournament.

“After winning the Xpora Indonesia International Challenge 2023 tournament, we are starting this tournament again from the beginning. We made this fight as another adaptation to the conditions on the ground to be able to bring out our best game,” Jesita said.

The women’s doubles was also won by Ridya Aulia Fatasya/Kelly Larissa who won against Japanese pair Mei Sudo/Nao Yamakita through a rubber game battle with a score of 18-21, 21-17, 21-14.
