Badminton News: Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, the 5th Indonesian men’s singles badminton player in the world, successfully won his first title of the season at the Hylo Open 2022 World Tour Super 300 tournament held at Saarlandhalle Saarbrücken, Germany.
Anthony’s victory started in the top 32 of the Hylo Open 2022 by defeating a rising youngster from Ireland, Nhat Nguyen in two straight matches 21-13 and 21-10 in 37 minutes.
In the last 16 of the Hylo Open 2022, Anthony managed to defeat a rising player who is also a semi-finalist of Japan’s 2022 BWF World Tour Finals, Kodai Naraoka in two fairly easy consecutive matches with a score of 21-13, 21-19 in 40 minutes.
Former Singapore world champion Loh Kean Yew fell victim to Anthony Ginting’s greatness in the quarter-finals in a two-game battle going 21-14, 21-13 in 36 minutes.
Anthony, who is seeded fifth, has successfully beaten India’s former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth in the last four rounds in back-to-back matches in 38 minutes with a score of 21-18, 21-15 .
Meanwhile, in the final of the Hylo Open 2022 tournament which took place on Sunday, November 6, 2022, Anthony Ginting managed to become the champion by beating Taiwan’s third seed Chou Tien Chen through a close battle. which was quite thrilling for 1 hour and 16 minutes with the score of 18-21, 21-11 and 24-22.
This is Anthony’s second World Tour title of the 2022 season after winning the Singapore Open Super 500 tournament in July.
