Morocco international Achraf Hakimi was named the best Arab athlete on Saturday in Riyadh during a ceremony organized to pay tribute to artists and athletes from around the world as part of the “Joy Awards 2023”.
Hakimi, a player for French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) who reached fourth place with the Moroccan national team at the last FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022, won the prize for favorite Arab athlete at the end of the public voting, said the head of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al -Sheikh.
He added that Saudi Mariam Saleh Binladen won the favorite sportsperson award.
On this occasion, Mr. Al-Sheikh gave gifts to several artists and influencers in the fields of television, film, sports and music, as well as new faces in the art world to support young talents.
