Jorge Martín crossed the Indian Grand Prix finish line in second place, not without difficulty. The Pramac Ducati rider had difficulties when he arrived at parc ferme.
Sprint winner Jorge Martín finished second in the Indian Grand Prix, after battling with Francesco Bagnaia to the fall, then with Fabio Quartararo to the checkered flag. Arriving at pitlane, the Spanish racer tried to calm himself and hydrate before needing medical attention in parc ferme.
The Pramac Ducati rider was then able to attend the podium ceremony and collect the trophy for his second place but was forced to miss the post-race press conference. Jorge Martín spoke to the media via voice message from his team.
“You have to believe me when I say that I gave 100%. I was dehydrated with 8 laps to go. So it was very difficult to finish the race, although I managed to keep the pace. Finally, on the last lap, I made a big mistake due to dehydration and went wide, so Fabio Quartararo overtook me. But I can overtake him. “I am very happy to be able to occupy second place,” said the racer from Spain.
Combination problems for Jorge Martin
During the race, the Pramac Ducati racer experienced problems with his costume. If the top fastener was still closed, the zipper was partially open, without exposing the Spanish pilot’s chest. He did not receive a penalty for this, unlike Fabio Quartararo at the 2022 Aragón Grand Prix.
“As for the suit, it doesn’t seem to close well, I managed to close it and at 200 km/h it’s not easy and I lost more than a second,” he added.
