Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has responded to Michael Vaughan's statement that India is an underperforming team. Vaughan's statement came after India lost the first IND vs SA Test. After the second IND vs SA Test in which India won the match in a day and a half, Ashwin said that although India had not won the ICC Trophy for a long time, they were one of the teams dominant tests abroad.

In a video posted on Ashwin's YouTube channel, Ashwin saw former England batsman Michael Vaughan's comments after the first Test, in which he described India as an underperforming team.

“Michael Vaughan, after the first Test, said India were an underperforming team. Yes, we haven't won an ICC trophy in years. We consider ourselves a force in the game. However, the Indian Test team is one of the best traveling teams of all time. We have seen many amazing results. After he (Vaughan) said that, many pundits in our country started doubting whether India was an underperforming team. Honestly, it made me laugh,” Ashwin said.
