Tamil Nadu batsman Sai Sudarshan has a remarkable record in List A where he has scored 1,324 runs at an average of 63 in 26 matches.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was extremely impressed with young Sai Sudarshan, who scored his maiden fifty on his ODI debut against South Africa on Sunday. With just one match under his belt, Pathan believes Sai can be a long-term solution for India.
Pathan told Star Sports: “When someone behaves like that on the field in South Africa, you feel like you have found someone who can play in the Indian team for the next 10-15 years . It’s a very early start but it’s still incredible. The first four people hit the first ball. So it starts very well.
Pathan supports his statement by talking about the Sai Sudarshana technique. “When you watch him bat, he stays on his feet, bowls the short ball well, uses his feet well, bowls quickly and turns well with both the front and back feet, swings and then dances down the track to generate pace if the bowler is fast..no speed. So it seems like he is very mature.

“His A-list career has been fantastic, his average age is over 60. Secondly, he performed very well in the IPL. Thirdly, he had just returned from a game of county cricket. Putting it all together, he was given the opportunity to play in different places and positions at such a young age and he made the most of it.
