Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Iraq U-20 has a power that must be anticipated by Indonesia U-20 team when we find ourselves in group A U-20 Asian Cup 2023. Here is the strength of Iraq, which is the opponent of Indonesia in the U-20 Asian Cup.
The draw for the U-20 Asian Cup 2023 took place in Uzbekistan, Wednesday 26/10. The Indonesian U-20 national team is in Group A with Uzbekistan, Iraq and Syria.
The Asian U-20 Cup match will be held in Uzbekistan from March 1 to 18, 2023. Before playing the inaugural match, it seems quite interesting to analyze the strength of Indonesia’s potential opponents in Group A, including Iraq.
Iraq is a country ranked 68th by FIFA. Iraq qualified for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup as Group H runners-up with six points from three matches. Iraq became the fourth-best runners-up in the U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Iraq finished under Australia who emerged victorious in Group H. En route to the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, Iraq beat India 4-2, beat Kuwait 2 -0 and lost 0-1 to Australia.
Thus, Iraq won a total of two wins, one loss, scored six goals and conceded three goals in three matches played.
The six goals scored by Iraq were scored by different players namely Abdulrazzaq Qasim, Hayder Abdulkareem, Ali Sadeq, Muslim Al-Hamdani and an own goal from Indian Bikash Yumnam.
The results obtained by Iraq during the qualifiers for the U-20 Asian Cup are rather positive. The reason is that before undergoing the qualification for the Asian U-20 Cup 2023, Iraq performed poorly in the Arab U-20 Cup 2023 which was held in Saudi Arabia from July 20 to 7 august.
Joined in Group A with Saudi Arabia and Mauritania, Iraq was helpless by suffering two defeats and finally finished last in Group A.
