NEW DELHI: a versatile and prolific player Sunil Narine's remarkable performance in the IPL reached new heights when he joined an elite club of players to achieve the double milestone of over 1,500 runs and 150 wickets in the league's history.
Narine achieved this feat during Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)'s match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow.
In the match, Narine demonstrated his all-round prowess by smashing 81 runs off just 39 balls, including six fours and seven sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 207.69.Throughout his IPL career, Narine has accumulated 1,507 runs at an average of 17.32, with a remarkable strike rate of 166.33. He has also scalped 176 wickets in 173 matches, making him the fifth highest wicket-taker in IPL history.
This season, Narine has been in scintillating form, amassing 461 runs at an impressive average of 41.90 and a blistering strike rate of 183.66, including a century and three fifties. His outstanding performances have been instrumental for KKR.
Joining Narine in this exclusive club is CSK’s chance Ravindra Jadeja And Dwayne Bravo. Jadeja has scored 2,894 runs and taken 160 wickets in 237 matches, while Bravo has accumulated 1,560 runs and taken 183 wickets in 161 matches, making them stalwarts in the IPL.

Arriving at the match, LSG opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Narine's 81, combined with solid shots Phil Salt (32 in 14 balls, with five fours and a six), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (32 in 26 balls, with three fours and a six) and Ramandeep Singh (25* in six balls, with a four and three sixes) took KKR to 235. /6 in their 20 overs.
Naveen-ul-Haq (3/49) was the pick of the bowlers for LSG. Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi and Yudhvir Singh got a wicket each.
