Hangzhou: After donating three bronze medals, today Monday (25/9) morning, the Indonesian rowing contingent failed to add to the medal pool of the 2023 Asian Games.

Indonesian rowing athletes failed to increase their prize pool in the three events they participated in, namely the men’s quadruple scull, women’s quadruple scull and men’s quadruple scull.

The men’s four finished fifth in 6:17.55. Of these, Uzbekistan won the gold medal with a time of 6:04.96, followed by China with the silver medal and India with the bronze.

In fact, Indonesia had to settle for fourth place in the women’s quadruple scull with a time of 6:56.50. Of these, China again won a gold medal, followed by Iran with silver and Vietnam with a bronze medal.

Indonesia also reached fourth place in the men’s quadruple sculls event. Indonesia finished the match in 6:09.75. China also won the gold medal, followed by Uzbekistan and India.

After the Hangzhou 2022 CdM Asian Games competition, Basuki Hadimuljono said that our rowing team was unlucky. However, I see that the athletes did their best to show the best of themselves.

“Today we are unlucky, and the difference is only 0.2, 2 seconds ago. Earlier we were maybe talking about physics if we see that China is 185 to 190 cm. We still need to strengthen our physical training,” Basuki said.

Basuki felt that the struggle of Indonesian rowing athletes was extraordinary. “Our goal right now is between silver and bronze, the kids are optimal and they are already good,” he added. (amr)
