Indonesia women’s national team will participate in the Women’s Asian Cup 2022 in India which will be held from January 20. Here is the schedule of the Indonesian women’s national team.
The Indonesian women’s national team qualified for the 2022 Asian Cup after eliminating Singapore 2-0 on aggregate in the qualifying round.
Srikandi Garuda’s troops have to fight harder in India as they will face tougher opponents in the Group B stage. Rudy Eka Priyambada’s side will face Australia, Thailand and the Philippines.
Australia will be Indonesia’s first opponent in the preliminary round of Group B on Friday (21/1). Three days later, Zahra Musdalifah and her friends were challenged by Thailand before facing the Philippines in the final game.
The 2022 Women’s Asian Cup will be held under the knockout system. The top two teams from a total of three groups automatically qualify for the final eight. While the remaining two places will belong to the best third-placed team.
The Indonesian women’s national team has undergone a series of training camps since December 12, 2021. Coach Rudy Eka called 40 names to be whittled down to 28 players.
The training camp in Jakarta will last until January 15. A day later, the women’s national team will fly to Mumbai, India.
