Indonesian national team reportedly had the biggest jump over other South East Asian (ASEAN) teams after FIFA Day.
The Indonesian national team performed well in two FIFA Matchday test matches in September. Twice met Curacao, Shin Tae Yong’s team always won.
Recently, Rachmat Irianto and his friends beat Curacao 2-1 at Pakansari Cibinong Stadium in Bogor on Tuesday (9/27) night WIB. This result continued the positive streak after winning 3-2 against the same opponent a few days earlier.
According to the calculation of Footy Ranking, Indonesia has the right to be ranked 152nd in the FIFA rankings. Previously, the Red and White team occupied the 155th position as of August 25.
Two consecutive victories on FIFA Matchday mean that Indonesia will record 1033.90 points.
Vietnam and Malaysia also felt the rise in rankings. Just like Indonesia, Vietnam won in two matches titled VFF Tri-Nations Series against Singapore and India.
Vietnam ruthlessly beat Singapore 4-0 and followed that up with a convincing 3-0 win over India. Vietnam got an additional 7.81 points with a total of 1226.65 points.
Malaysia who failed to win the Kings Cup 2022, also called Footy Rankings, will move up two tiers. The Malayan Tigers will improve their position from 148th to 146th.
Meanwhile, Thailand became the only top ASEAN representative to not experience a ranking change. The team managed by Mano Polking will still be ranked 111th even if it has just won against Trinidad and Tobago which is ranked 101st in the FIFA rankings.
Thailand’s failure to move up the table is inseparable from the penalty shootout loss to Malaysia in the 2022 Kings Cup.
