Badminton News: Indonesia’s world number 1 men’s doubles duo, Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto couldn’t hide his disappointment when they were eliminated early in the quarter-finals of the prestigious Indonesia Open World Tour Super 1000 tournament.
Appearing in front of the home fans who packed the Gelora Istora Senayan Jakarta, Fajar/Rian had to defeat Indian Swiss Open 2023 champion Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty with two easy 13-21 and 13-21 matches.
After the fight, Fajar admitted that he and Rian tried their best, but the Indian pair played very well and were easily penetrated.

With this result, the Indian pair Satwik/Chirag managed to equalize in their head to head with a score of 2-2 with Fajar/Rian in the last four meetings.
Meanwhile, this is Fajar/Rian’s third consecutive minor result in the World Tour tournament. Previously, the 2023 All England champion was stranded in the first round of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 and Singapore Open Super 750 tournaments last week at Lion City.
