HOLOPIS.COM, JAKARTA – The Indonesian national team has reportedly been canceled to face India in a match called FIFA Match Day this year.
PSSI official website report on Saturday (20/8) the match was canceled as India received sanctions from FIFA.
Therefore, the Indonesian national team will finally face Curacao for the FIFA match day game at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on September 24 and September 27 at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
It is known that earlier, the PSSI would have established communication with India to organize a FIFA match day, but in fact, they did not.
“The option against India was void as they were sanctioned by FIFA. Luckily, the PSSI did not reach an agreement with India, so it does not interfere with the opponent’s preparations during the FIFA Match Day match,” said PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi.
For information, on Tuesday (16/8), India was officially sanctioned by FIFA, as it was suspected that there had been interference or intervention by a third party regarding the process of electing the General President of the Indian Federation football or AIFF.
In the aftermath of the sanctions, all international Indian football matches were suspended. Indeed, the U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held from October 11 to 30 will be automatically canceled.
Therefore, the match between the Indonesian national team, which was supposed to be against India, had to be canceled due to the sanctions.
