Soldier India and China reportedly clashed in the Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh state, near the border of the two countries, on December 9.
An Indian soldier said dozens of personnel from both sides were injured in the deadliest clashes since June 2020. Even so, there has been no official report on the incident and the exact number of injured victims.
“Both sides immediately moved away from the area,” the soldier said on Monday (12/12).
He said an Indian military commander held an emergency meeting with his Chinese counterpart in the region to resolve the clashes.
So far, however, India’s External Affairs Ministry has been reluctant to respond to reports of the incident. India’s Defense Ministry also declined to comment on the number of its soldiers injured in the clashes.

India and China share a land border of 3,800 kilometers. However, the border situation between the two countries is generally peaceful and serene after the war in 1962.
However, in June 2020, Indian and Chinese troops engaged in hand-to-hand combat in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, near the Beijing-controlled Tibetan Plateau.
The deadliest incident between the military of the two countries killed 20 Indian soldiers and injured several Chinese soldiers.
