Indian women’s singles champion opts to focus on maintaining fitness as PV Sindhu misses 2 badminton championships

BANGKAPOS.COM – Indian women’s singles badminton player Pusarla Venkata (PV) Sindhu will miss the Danish Open and French Open 2022.

He chose to continue his recovery after a broken left ankle.

This is the umpteenth time that Sindhu is absent from the tournament.

Last August, he also missed the 2022 World Championships and the 2022 Japan Open which both took place in Japan.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, which is a sporting event for the British Commonwealth of Nations, will be their final appearance.

There too, the former women’s singles champion suffered an injury even though she was paid with a gold medal.

According to the India Times, Sindhu does not want to take any risks with his injury.

He wants to make sure he is 100% fit before resuming the game.

Plus, with a packed tournament schedule next year.

“On the positive side, I think now is my only chance because next year will be a busy year,” he said.

“But on the negative side, I would say it’s a shame that I stopped playing the tournament for a while,” he said.

“It’s important because we have to take care of our bodies and make sure we’re really fit and well. We have to take care of ourselves to overcome the current level of play,” Sindhu said.

The Danish Open and the 2022 French Open were to be the world number six’s first tournaments after his injury.

This was transmitted by his father, Pusarla Venkata Ramana. He hopes his daughter can return to the field in October.

Sindhu now hopes to make it to the BWF World Tour 2022 Finals in Guangzhou, China in December.

He still has a chance to reach the final of the BWF World Tour 2022 by placing second in the Road to Guangzhou ranking.

This year, Sindhu has won Syed Modi India International, Swiss Open and Singapore Open three times.

“It’s important to recover quickly and overcome it so that we are stronger than before. The injury is better and hopefully I will start competing in December,” he hoped. (Tribunnews/bolasport.com)
