Indian Sports Calendar May 2024: Events to Watch Out for in Week 4

Qualifying for Olympic Boxing Games 2 will begin this week.

Another blockbuster week awaits fans with a wide range of sporting action featured in the Indian sports calendar. The second stage of the Archery World Cup and the resumption of the FIH Hockey Pro League will attract fans from all over the world.

Additionally, Olympic rowing and boxing qualifying will take place this week. This will be the last chance for rowers and boxers to qualify for the Olympics. The Asian Gymnastics Championships are also underway and Dipa Karmakar will be looking to qualify.

The IPL qualifiers will also begin this week and it will be interesting to see who wins the trophy. One of the most anticipated tournaments of the month, the French Open begins this week.

Big event to watch out for in the fourth week of the Indian May sports calendar

Archery

The Archery World Cup Phase II will take place this week and Indian archers will be looking to do well. The women's recurve team wants to perform well to gain important points in the rankings. Expectations will, as usual, be high from the mixed team to achieve this and the men's recurve team will be looking to show consistency after winning the first stage.

Several athletics tournaments will take place this week. Indian athletes will look to reach the Olympic qualification bar and look to climb the ladder towards the Paris rankings. The Asian relay will also take place this week and will be the last competition before the Paris Olympics.

Badminton

After the Thailand Open, the caravan will travel to Malaysia, while Para-Badminton will also take place in Bahrain.

The Olympic qualifiers will take place this week, the last chance for Indian pugilists to qualify for the Olympics. Indian boxers are yet to open their accounts and the focus will be on Nishant Dev, Amit Panghal and Lakshya to book tickets to Paris.
