In a new development, India will be participating in the Flag Football World Cup, a sport that was recently added to the Olympic programme.
The sporting calendar is increasingly filled with Indian athletes competing in badminton, squash, table tennis and tennis. The highlight of the week is the start of the US Open, the final grand slam tennis tournament of the year.
