Vande Bharat trains latest news: Various routes in southern India will receive more Vande Bharat trains in the coming days, Indian Railways announced on Monday. A railway official gave details to news agency PTI and said Indian Railways is expected to introduce three more Vande Bharat trains in southern India. He added that the routes under consideration for the new services would be from Kacheguda in Telangana to Bengaluru in Karnataka and from Secunderabad in Telangana to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and Pune in Maharashtra.

Notably, Indian Railways launched South India’s first Vande Bharat Express train on the Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysure route back in November this year. PM Modi has dropped off the fifth train of Vande Bharat Express at Krantiveera Sangolli railway station in Bengaluru. The recently launched Secunderabad-Vizag Vande Bharat Express has been running at 100 percent capacity since its launch.

Sources told PTI news agency that South Central Railway railway departments have been asked to upgrade the infrastructure of at least one of their carriage depots in Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Vijayawada departments for servicing Vande Bharat trains for these destinations.

Indian Railways plans to operate 75 Vande Bharat trains by the end of this year and 400 over the next three years. As of now, Vande Bharat trains have been introduced on various routes including Nagpur-Bilaspur, Delhi-Varanasi, Gandhinagar-Mumbai and Chennai-Mysuru.

The Vande Bharat Express is designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur in Chennai as part of the flagship Make-in-India initiative.
