Two Indian politicians who insulted the Prophet Muhammad have been sentenced to suspension from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal received different punishments. Sharma was suspended as a senior party member, while Jindal was expelled.

The name Turkey has officially changed its international name to Turkiye since the country’s application letter submitted to the United Nations (UN).

Previously, Turkey submitted a letter to the UN General Secretariat dated June 1, 2022.

“The name change will take place as soon as possible,” said UN Secretary-General’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric, referring to the effective date of the name change since the UN secretariat received the letter.
