Fighter mma India’s Nikhil Suresh is believed to have died after losing to a knockout in a K1 kickboxing duel in Bangalore, India.

The event of Suresh’s death as a result of fights was conveyed by trainer Vikram Nagaraj through social media.

“It is with deep sadness that I take on the burden of delivering the terrible news that we all fear. My son Nikhil decided to hang up his gloves today,” Nagaraj said on Instagram.

“His beautiful soul left us after a hard struggle early in the morning despite the best medical treatment. She will forever be etched in our hearts and memories,” Nagaraj added.

Nagaraj is devastated after Suresh’s death. In addition, he highlighted the organization of fights that do not have adequate sanitary facilities.

“My son Nikhil is in critical condition after suffering a knockout during K1 Karnataka Association’s K1 Kickboxing Championship on July 9-10, 2022 in Bangalore,” Nagaraj said.

“If there had been an ambulance, trained medical personnel and standard combat platforms on the scene, he would not have lost those precious golden moments when the tragedy happened and could have saved him from this misery,” Nagaraj continued.

Following the unfortunate incident, Nikhil Suresh’s team reported the matter to the authorities and sued the K1 association.

“It requires a major mindset overhaul for organizers and associations to follow existing security protocols for combat sports,” Nagaraj said.
