Fighter mma Indian origin Nikhil Suresh is said to have passed away after losing by knockout in the K1 kickboxing duel in Bangalore, India.
city of bloody elbow, Nikhil Suresh died while participating in a fight organized by the Karnataka K1 association. In the duel, Suresh was hit hard causing him to fall to the canvas and pass out.
Suresh was taken to hospital to receive treatment for the blow injury. However, he passed away on Wednesday (13/7).
The incident of Suresh’s death due to fighting was conveyed by Coach Vikram Nagaraj through social media.
“It is with deep sadness that I bear the burden of delivering the bad news that we all fear. My son Nikhil decided to hang up his gloves today,” Nagaraj said on Instagram.
“His beautiful soul left us after a bitter struggle in the early hours of the morning despite the best medical care. She will forever be etched in our hearts and memories,” Nagaraj added.
Nagaraj is devastated after Suresh’s death. In addition, he highlighted the implementation of the fight which lacked adequate sanitary facilities.
“My son Nikhil is in critical condition after being knocked out at Karnataka K1 Association K1 Kickboxing Championship on July 9-10, 2022 in Bangalore,” Nagaraj said.
“If there had been an ambulance, trained medical personnel and a standard combat platform in place, he would not have lost the precious golden moment when the tragedy happened and could have saved him from this suffering,” Nagaraj continued.
Following this unfortunate incident, Nikhil Suresh’s team reported this matter to the authorities and sued the K1 association.
“It requires a major mindset overhaul for organizers and associations to follow the safety protocols already in place for combat sports,” Nagaraj said.
