Liputan6.com, Jakarta – For the first time, Indian Mission to ASEAN or Indian Mission to ASEAN organized yoga together to commemorate International Yoga Day which falls on June 21st.
The joint yoga event was held at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta on Wednesday (6/21/2023), with a quota of 80 participants. According to information, the number of registrants has reached 85 participants.
The Indian Mission to ASEAN seeks to promote yoga, which has great health benefits, to the people of Indonesia.
Moreover, this activity is also useful to strengthen the relationship between yoga fans, Indonesian and Indian citizens.
“It’s a very important activity, people are showing great enthusiasm,” said Indian Ambassador to ASEAN Jayant N Khobragade, who was also present as one of the joint yoga participants. .
The commemoration event was themed “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam“, which aims to link yoga to one of the themes of the current G20 presidency, namely “Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam“, which means “One Earth – One Family – One Future”.
“Yoga means unity, uniting body and mind, man and nature,” Khobragade said.
According to Khobragade, yoga has significant significance for Indian society. India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was the driving force behind the UN’s declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day, “This is a world heritage.”
He hopes that this activity can raise awareness of the importance of yoga for the health of body and mind.
