However, India are ready to work alongside the Caribbean in this elite group after the opening match of the two-match Test series against South Africa. The series will begin on December 26.
West Indies have played 573 Tests while India are behind with 572 Tests. India will equal the record in the next match against the Proteas at Centurion.
India will follow West Indies on January 3, who will play their 574th Test.
