India vs Australia: Ash Gardener hopes for better results with limited-over batting

In the India vs Australia Test match, Ash Gardender scored 18 runs in two innings and took five wickets.

Despite losing the one-off Test against India last week, Australia still have a lot to play for as the limited overs phase is yet to begin. All-rounder Ashleigh Gardener will be hoping to find some form during this series. Despite being the second best player in the world, she has not been able to produce the form she would like, but the series which begins on Thursday will be a good opportunity for her.

After giving his all in the Test where he bowled over 50 overs, he is almost ready for the upcoming series. “I recovered very quickly. I didn’t feel like I scored 50 overs in a Test match the other day, so I feel ready to do that again,” Gardner told ICC.

Pointing the wand at her skinny bump, he said, “I feel like I'm not that far away.” I don't think it's a technical problem, but simply the impossibility of making a clear decision. In a country like India, you have to have a clear game plan and that is something I will focus on in the last six matches in India.

Now, Gardener just hopes his bowling form translates to his batting form as well. “It’s something I’ve been doing for a few years. I'm really trying to improve my skills with the ball and be able to use it more.

“It shows that Alyssa Healy has a lot of confidence in me when it comes to football at the moment, which makes my confidence level very good. “I'm in a very good position with the ball at the moment and I hope that it will result in strikes,” Gardner added.
