Indian national team allegedly hired a necromancer to support the escape to Asian Cup 2023.
indian media, India time reports that the Indian Football Federation (AIFF) has spent 16 lakh or around IDR 328 million to hire astrologers to help the Indian national team qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup finals.
“[AIFF] hired a [ahli nujum] to support the Indian national team in the Asian Cup qualifiers. It was later discovered that the support team that was brought in was an astrologer,” a team insider said as quoted by India time.
The astrologer was reportedly involved in the role of the Indian national team in the third round of qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup. Although an Indian national team player who lives in Kolkata claimed to have never heard talk about the news.
“Anyway, I never heard of it because I also joined the Indian national team late,” said the Indian player who declined to be named.
Meanwhile, AIFF General Secretary Sunando Dhar did not provide an explanation regarding the matter when confirmed by The Times of India.

Meanwhile, former India goalkeeper Tanumoy Bose laughed and criticized AIFF’s decision to hire astrologers to qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup.
“At a time when the AIFF has repeatedly failed to organize a proper youth league and many prestigious tournaments have been forced to fail, incidents like this have further tarnished the image of Indian football,” Bose said.
India managed to qualify for the final of the 2023 Asian Cup after finishing as Group D winners in the third round of qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup.
Igor Stimac’s side recorded a perfect nine points after sweeping three Group D matches with one win.
