September 17th was the day that everything changed for Anoop. This dad who lives in south India had the winning ticket for the Loto that day: he pocketed 3.2 million euros. A stroke of luck in his home country, good enough that this professional driver had to go to Malaysia to treat his sick son.

But things didn’t turn out as Anoop expected after this win at all… “I was so happy when I won, there were cameras all over the house, we were so happy…”, he told the BBC, which told his story. But wealth makes many people around him envious… “I wish I didn’t win. Now I can’t leave my house, I can’t go anywhere. My son is sick and I can’t take him to the doctor.” And for good reason: in front of his house, people were waiting for him to leave to take money from him. A real nightmare for Anoop and his family, especially since the latter has not received any money. “No one seems to understand it, even though I’m just repeating it…”

Anoop will be taking management lessons to manage his new assets but clearly doesn’t have the help of a psychological unit or help from Loto. From now on, the winners must leave the family home to an undisclosed location…
