In her message to young digital entrepreneurs on the sidelines of Fortune India’s Most Powerful Women in Business awards ceremony, Minister for Women and Children’s Development Smriti Irani said that young people are aware not only of their business needs but also of their business responsibilities aware will be up to the task to ensure that the opportunities created trickle down to the small business level and help them grow in size and scale.
“I think the Amrit Kaal ka Budget as the Prime Minister calls it, created a basis for opportunities in different sectors. Given that India has now announced the world’s largest hydrogen mission, given that the budget is giving a huge boost to artificial intelligence, given that the country will be awarded the biggest contract in the aviation business ever, I think that the possibilities are many.” she said.
“But I also believe that while we create opportunities for large companies, we have to keep in mind that up to this point we are not supporting the entire supply chain and creating entrepreneurship from the SME level, up to this point we are not targeting the.” supporting financially robust SMEs and helping them make the transition to medium-sized companies, I don’t think the fruits of the opportunities created for the big companies will trickle down with the kind of clarity that we would wish for the youngsters who aware not only of their business needs but also of their business responsibilities will be up to the opportunity,” Irani added.
