H1 2022 games conversation on Twitter hits record

Jakarta: Twitter announced that in the first half of 2022, its working platform will continue to be a place where the gaming community can share and connect with each other through live or real-time conversations.

Conversations ranged from Genshin Impact and Wordle to events like Xbox Showcase and Playstation’s State of Play. Twitter has revealed that 1.5 billion gaming-related Tweets were tweeted by users of its platform worldwide between January and June 2022.




Additionally, based on a comparison of internal Twitter data from January-June 2021 to January-June 2022, this figure represents a 36% year-over-year increase.

Twitter also revealed that Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand were among the top 10 countries that talked about games the most on Twitter globally in the first half of 2022.

As a reminder, these three countries are also in the list of the 10 countries for the same category in 2021.

In addition to these three countries, the countries that talk about games the most on Twitter in the world are Japan, the United States, South Korea, Brazil, India, the United Kingdom, Mexico.

Meanwhile, the most talked about games on Twitter around the world are Genshin Impact, Wordle Ensemble Stars!, Final Fantasy, Project Sekai, Apex Legends, Elden Ring, Fate/Grand Order, Valorant and The Legend of Zelda.

Meanwhile, the most talked about esports leagues on Twitter around the world are League of Legends’ Campeonato Brasileiro, Apex Esports, League of Legends Champions Korea, Call of Duty League, and Overwatch League.

Twitter also lists the most talked about gaming personalities in the world on Twitter, namely Colon, Sapnap, Dream, Ibai Llanos, Juan S Guarnizo, AuronPlay, Felipe Neto, Junichi Kato, GeorgeNotFound and Rubén Gundersen.
