Google protects Gmail users from the Dark Web

JAKARTA – Google has announced that it will expand its dark web monitoring to all Gmail users in the United States (US) and international markets. This is done to protect Gmail users.

According to The Hans India, Gmail users will now be able to see if their Gmail address appears on the dark web and receive advice on what steps to take to protect themselves.

“Previously only available to Google One customers in the US, the Dark Web Scan feature will be available to all Gmail users in the coming weeks,” the page reads, as quoted on Monday (5/15/2023).

Jen Fitzpatrick, senior vice president of Google Core Services, said the company will protect Gmail users from nearly 15 billion messages every day, blocking more than 99.9% of spam, phishing and malware.

“Now we’re extending spam protection even further in Google Drive, introducing a new view that makes it easier to separate and review your files. »

The company is also launching a new tool, to help people rate the trustworthiness of visual content they find online. This image will tell the first image indexed by Google.

Thus, Google became the first technology company to activate Passkey Login on its own platform.
