Anthony Sinisuka Ginting qualify for the final Hylo Open 2022 after defeating Srikanth Kidambi at Saarlandhalle Saarbrücken, Germany on Saturday (5/11) local time.
In the first match, Ginting faced fierce resistance from India’s Kidambi in the semi-finals. The Indonesian men’s singles even trailed 9-11 in the first interval.
However, Ginting’s hard struggle paid off. Slowly Ginting was able to get back up and managed to level the score 13-13.
It became the impetus for Ginting to control the game until he finally managed to close out the opener with a 21-18 victory.
In the second game, Ginting appeared more confident. The 2020 Olympic bronze medalist was able to lead 11-8 in the middle of the game until he finally managed to close the match with a 21-15 advantage.
This result allowed Ginting to advance to the final to face the third seed, Chou Tien Chen. Previously, the Taiwanese men’s singles managed to beat French representative Toma Junior Popov in the semi-finals.
Thus, Indonesia sent its two representatives to the Hylo Open 2022 final after Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati previously qualified for the mixed doubles final.

Unfortunately, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung’s movement had to come to a halt in the semi-finals after losing in two consecutive matches 19-21 19-21 against the representative of China, Han Yue.
Additionally, Ginting and Rehan/Lisa will fight in the final of the Hylo Open 2022 which will take place on Sunday (6/11) evening WIB.
