Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma on Thursday (February 22) said the future of India-Bangladesh relations will depend on the commitment of the youth of both countries to maintain, strengthen and further develop their traditional and historically strong bilateral ties transform.
He made the remark while talking to the 100-member Bangladesh youth delegation that will visit India from February 25 to March 4, 2024, said a press release issued by the Indian High Commission here.
The envoy emphasized the importance of youth for national development while the Indian High Commission hosted a flag-raising ceremony for the 100-member youth delegation of Bangladesh visiting India from February 25 to March 4, 2024.
Verma congratulated all participants on their selection as part of the youth delegation and hoped that their visit would provide them with valuable insights into the development aspirations and progress in India as well as the changing nature of India-Bangladesh relations across the world-various areas.
During their visit, the Bangladeshi youth will interact with key personalities and institutions in India from government, academia, business, civil society and socio-cultural sectors.
The delegation will also visit places of historical, cultural, commercial and technological importance in India.
The itinerary has been specially designed to provide delegates with an opportunity to experience India's rich and diverse cultural heritage.
The Bangladesh Youth Delegation Program was launched by the High Commission in 2012.
It is one of the most popular youth initiatives of the High Commission, which over the years has counted among its alumni a large number of young people who have made their mark in various walks of life in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Youth Delegation this year has a wide range of participants from across Bangladesh, including young professionals, journalists, athletes, artists, doctors and engineers.
