Foreign portfolio investors and mutual funds have slightly increased their stake in Paytm’s parent company, One97 Communications, according to a regulatory filing.
The One97 Communications share ownership pattern for the June quarter 2022-23 shows that the number of shareholders as Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) has increased from 54 to 83, thereby increasing the number of shares they hold from 2.86 to 3,53,72,428 is. 80,948 in the previous March quarter.
This increases the proportion of FPIs in the company from 4.42 percent to 5.45 percent. The number of unitholders as mutual funds also increased from just 3 to 19, increasing the number of units held by them from 68,19,790 to 74,02,309.
Paytm’s stock rose about 18 percent to Rs.675.8 in the June quarter. Its shares opened at Rs 742 a share on Wednesday morning.
In the June quarter of 2022, Paytm loan disbursements increased more than 5-fold to 84.78 lakh, which was 9-fold in value at Rs 5,554 crore yoy, reaching an annualized run rate of Rs 24,000 crore.
The company’s total merchant payment volume or GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) has more than doubled year-on-year to Rs. 2.96 million from Rs. 1.47 billion.
Paytm’s average monthly transactional users (MTU) grew 49 percent in the quarter to 7.48 million from 5 million in the June quarter of 2021-22.
