Florence Pugh said the independent film community was “furious” when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
By signing on to play in “Black Widow”, Florence Pugh temporarily drew the ire of independent cinema. In an interview published in The Times on Tuesday, he said, “They were like, ‘Great, now he’s gone forever.'”
The star, who joined the MCU as Yelena Belova with ‘Black Widow’ in 2021, said some people were “very upset” by her decision at the time.
Florence Pugh, who also appeared on the Disney+ show “Hawkeye”, was previously well known in Hollywood with several independent films, including “Midsommar” and “Lady Macbeth”.
“Beauty in all kinds of films”
During an earlier interview in March, the actress previously reported that people had warned her that she would never return to small films again after her foray into Marvel. But a staunch believer “there is beauty in all kinds of movies,” the star of ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ and ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ tries to maintain the right balance in the various projects she undertakes.
“I work as hard as ever,” he said. I always make one film after another. It’s just that people are watching them now. You just have to be a little more organized with your schedule,” he says.
The actress indeed continues to work in a universe far removed from the big Hollywood machines and other superhero movies, as evidenced by her recent projects like “The Wonder” and “A Good Person”.
