Flash floods in Pakistan caused the death of 1,033 people and the destruction of a million homes.

At least 1,033 people have been killed and an estimated one million homes destroyed in seasonal flooding in Pakistan. The death toll rose after officers found 119 people in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) said more than two million hectares of crops were destroyed, 3,451 kilometers (2,150 miles) of roads were destroyed and 149 bridges were washed away.

Meanwhile, officials said floods this year have affected more than 33 million people and around a million homes have been destroyed.
In response to the floods, the government declared a state of emergency and deployed the military to deal with what it called an “epic disaster”.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is intimidating China into deploying its military in the Asia-Pacific region because it is worried about the power and influence of the country of the Bamboo Curtain in the region.
The German Air Force has sent 13 military aircraft to the region for the first time. This deployment is part of a series of joint military exercises called Pitch Black in Australia.
