The new release date of Indian blockbuster RRR, directed by Baahubali, is finally official.
In the list of Indian filmmakers who have caused a stir internationally, SS Rajamouli occupies a special place. Already in 2012, he stood out with Eega, an impossible yet exhilarating tale of revenge in which the hero is reincarnated as a fly. But this is clear with the brilliant diptych The Legend of Baahubali: Part 1 And The Legend of Baahubali: Part 2 that the cinema is the noisiest in our area.
The recipe is to produce blockbusters sincere, generous, never cynical and highly effective. Of course, after this success, we can't wait to see the director's new project entitled RRR. Originally announced for late 2021, then for January 2022, unfortunately the film was postponed at the last minute, due to the health situation. Even though the Indian government has just announced the reopening of many cinemas across the country, producers RRR took the opportunity to formalize its new release date: March 25, 2022.
RRR will mix historical films and epic blockbusters. We will follow a a sinister reinterpretation from the lives of Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama, two famous revolutionaries of the early 20th century. As we suspected from the trailer released last December, historical accuracy may be compromised. But what we hope for above all is to get our doses entertainment rages on like no one else outside Indian cinema has done.
Fire of revolution
This quick release is good news for Indian cinema, which should make 2022 rich in epic blockbuster films. The good news is also in France, as the film deserves to benefit from itmore than worthy distribution in our cinemas. The designation has been made, with the hope that there will be some teasers or a second trailer by then, just to help us wait.
