Star Sports, which is the official TV broadcaster for the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023), has faced criticism from fans on social media site Twitter after airing ‘hot or not’ segments. In a new segment ahead of the Sunrisers Hyderbad (SRH) v Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match, Star asked a host to swipe left or right on a male cricketer currently playing in the Indian Premier League. The women on the show, including popular presenter Mayanti Langer, saw photos of Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Andre Russell and were asked to rate them. This new segment did not sit well with some fans watching the sports channels. They called out the announcer for their “sexist” show, which was on live TV.
Find out how fans blasted Star Sports for running a new segment that allegedly demeaned women:

Just reverse the situation with the men’s ranking of women’s cricketers and we’ll prepare charges of sexual harassment and objectification.

Mayanti, the popular Star Sports cricket anchor, appeared uncomfortable when told that Shubman was much younger than her during this segment. Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal is also featured in this segment.
